NEW YORK, NY: Kronos, a provider of workforce management services has partnered with Axsium –a workforce management consulting firm – to release a retail store performance plug-in to facilitate corporate, store managers in optimizing store productivity.

Driven by Kronos’ Workforce Analytics application, the plugin assists store, corporate and field managers to balance working hours, employee availability, and consumer demand through automated decision making capabilities. This identifies various aspects that influence customer, employee satisfaction, and helps managers address the issues.

The Workforce Analytics application provides on-demand access to actionable labor performance insight by giving visibility into areas like unplanned absenteeism, non-productive paid time and overtime inflations. This allows the store-management to increase productivity and keep the business cost competitive.

The latest move helps businesses to keep track of employees training and also provides detailed analysis of scheduling.  The application synthesizes scheduling, productivity data, and time clock entries against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like employee availability, preferences, skill sets, and consumer demand.

“The specific uses of big data for workforce management that retailers are seeking are how to quickly analyze vast amounts of labor data to get employees trained and working in the right places at the right times. By taking preemptive action to address gaps in these areas enhances store performance significantly as ultimately an engaged workforce equals higher productivity,” says Gregg Gordon, senior director, big data for workforce management group, Kronos.
